Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Munene-Pen website and our research and academic writing services. By inquiring, reserving a slot, or making a payment, you agree to these Terms.
1. Services
Munene-Pen provides research support, drafting, editing, formatting, and related academic writing services for professional and postgraduate clients. Specific scope, deliverables, deadlines, and fees are agreed in writing (via email, quote, or invoice) before work begins.
2. Client responsibilities
You agree to:
- Provide accurate contact details and a clear brief, including referencing style and deadlines
- Respond to clarification requests in a timely manner
- Use delivered work in accordance with your institution’s academic integrity policies
- Make payments as set out on your invoice
You are responsible for how you submit or present any work we produce. Munene-Pen does not guarantee acceptance, grades, or publication outcomes.
3. Onboarding fee and slot reservation
The onboarding fee reserves your place in the current intake cycle and is credited in full toward your first commissioned project. Slot reservations are limited per cycle. The onboarding fee is generally non-refundable once your slot has been held and work has been scheduled, except where we are unable to commence services as agreed.
4. Payments
Payments may be made via M-Pesa Till or bank transfer as indicated on your invoice. Work on project deliverables beyond onboarding begins once agreed fees are received or as otherwise stated in your quote. Late payment may delay delivery.
5. Revisions and delivery
We deliver work by agreed milestones. Reasonable revisions aligned with the original brief are included as stated in your quote. Requests that materially change scope, length, or topic may incur additional fees and revised timelines.
6. Intellectual property
Upon full payment for a deliverable, you receive the right to use that deliverable for your stated purpose. Munene-Pen retains no claim to publish or resell your commissioned work. We may retain anonymised internal records for quality and reference purposes unless you request otherwise in writing.
7. Confidentiality
We treat client identities, briefs, and documents as confidential. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle personal data.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Munene-Pen is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from use of our services, including academic penalties, missed deadlines caused by factors outside our control, or third-party system failures. Our total liability for any claim relating to a specific engagement is limited to the fees paid for that engagement.
9. Cancellations
If you cancel before work has started, we may refund amounts not yet earned, minus any non-recoverable costs. If work is in progress, fees for completed milestones and time already invested are due. Cancellations must be submitted in writing to hello@munene-pen.co.ke.
10. Website use
You may not misuse our website, attempt unauthorised access, or use automated tools to scrape or disrupt the service. Content on the site (branding, copy, layout) is owned by Munene-Pen and may not be reproduced without permission.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date. Existing clients remain subject to the Terms in effect when their engagement was confirmed, unless otherwise agreed.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Kenya. Disputes shall first be addressed through good-faith negotiation; failing that, the courts of Kenya shall have jurisdiction.
